Contact Form

contact formPut a  contact form on your contact page and make it easy for your visitors to contatct you.  If for whatever reason, you have not jumped on the 2.0 band wagon (and you really should have by now) a contact form is going to be the only way to interact with visitors to your website.

Interaction with your visitors is a must and if you’re not making it simple for visitors to contact you, then you’re probably missing out on hundreds of leads.

Remember a website is your shop window for the entire world to see the wonderful products and services you have to offer them but if you don’t make it a quick, easy and a painless experience for visitors to contact you then you can be sure, they will, go elsewhere.

The easiest way to make sure you can be contacted 24hrs a day 365 days a year is by using a contact form, and because it’s a contact form it should be kept short and to the point, you don’t want to make it a lengthy process for your visitors or they won’t bother using it.

Try to keep your contact form to 2 – 3:

Name:

Email address:

Message:

The above is all you need to include in a contact form, it provides you with enough information to do exactly what it’s designed for which is to allow you to contact the person back.

I have seen some awful contact forms on websites that ask for everything from gender, age to shoe size, I kid you not.

Do not worry about what fields your competitors are or are not using because you don’t know how well they’re converting, all you need to worry about is making it easy for your visitors to contact you so you can contact them back.

I highly recommend Email Me Form which is a FREE service that I have used for about two years now on a number of my clients websites; its basic account allows you to create 5 forms, so if you need more than just a contact form then it’s perfect.  Styling it to make it fit the look of your website is remarkably easy to do through the wizard.

When a visitor uses Email Me Form they remain on your site, and once they submit their details you can redirect them to another page of your site which is highly important so they actually never know you’re using a script.

Messages are forwarded to an email address (s) of your choice, and there are a number of additional options when if you upgrade like:

  • Unlimited number of forms
  • Unlimited number of fields
  • Send a copy of the submission to your visitors
  • Export to CSS

Other ways you can use Email Me Form are:

  • Registration Forms
  • Surveys
  • Competition

Signing up for an account takes a couple of minutes and is worth doing, in the two years I have been using them they have never tried to get me to sign up for their paid account which is only $9.95 a month.

So go and sign up for a free account and take it for a test drive and come back and let us know how you got on.
