Do you really need your own domain name if you want to run an online business?
I can tell you that I personally own an array of domain names that I have acquired over the years and I have been hosting my own and client’s domains and websites since 2003.
The answer is YES! (Sorry for shouting I just need to make sure you heard me) you do need your own domain name.
In my experience the only people that don’t want you to have a domain name are those that want you to send traffic to their site and sell their products as an affiliate.
Please don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the above, I didn’t have my own domain name when I first started out but then again I didn’t know any better.
Now that I know better I would strongly advise that if you want to be taken seriously and stay in control of your new online business, then one of the first things you need to do is buy a domain name for your online business (notice I said one of the first things) it’s only going to cost you a few dollars to buy a domain name.
